New «Platform — Biodiversity» — Call for cooperation

The Biodiversity Initiative was clearly rejected by 63 percent. Together with SwissFoundations and StiftungSchweiz, Somaha Foundation has now launched the new Platform – Biodiversity in order to make ready for implementation biodiversity projects in Switzerland more visible and to bring together the various actors, but also to expand the foundations' field of action. The new platform is aimed at foundations, non-profit organizations and other actors in the third sector that are active in the field of biodiversity. 

The failure of the Biodiversity Initiative highlights the need for alternative ways to effectively address biodiversity loss. There is a lack of both funding for urgent investment and a broader awareness of effective, collaborative solutions. Foundations have the flexibility to foster innovation and set priorities. This is exactly where SwissFoundations, Somaha Foundation and StiftungSchweiz come in with the new networking platform. 

StiftungSchweiz provides the digital collaboration tools for the new Platform - Biodiversity platform. Non-profit organizations active in the field of biodiversity, as well as funders who are currently active in the field of biodiversity or are considering doing so in the future, are invited to join the platform (please create a free Login at stiftungschweiz.ch beforehand).
